Linked folders, projects and the command line

Working with repositories and other folders, projects, and the command-line tool.

Linked folders

Link any folder in Settings → Folders → Link a folder…, such as a Git repository with Markdown docs. Linked folders are edited in place and labelled as linked; Jotzen adds nothing to them, skips .gitignored and dependency folders, and never syncs them.

Projects

Jotzen finds projects inside each folder from its layout (for example products/<name> in a repository, named from each README’s title) and the vault’s top-level folders. Filter todos by project with the Folders menu; rename or hide projects in Settings.

The command line

The vault has an AGENTS.md that explains its layout and todo syntax to AI coding tools; text you add outside its marked section is kept.

The jotzen command-line tool syncs a vault from a terminal, for scripts and AI agents, and imports from Evernote, Keep and Notion:

jotzen signin --address <sync address> --email you@example.com
jotzen push --vault ~/Notes --json
jotzen import-evernote Notebook.enex

Commands: signin, status, push, pull, sync, signout, import-evernote, import-keep, import-notion, delete-account and mcp. When the app is syncing the same vault, the tool hands the command to the app.
